POSTAL SAVINGS ACCOUNT

Is an ordinary bank account that uses passbook in keeping records for deposits and withdrawals.

The account has the following advantages

• Minimum opening balance is 10,000 shillings and account balance is 5,000 shillings.
• Bank transactions are recorded in the passbook which is kept by the client.
• Interest is recorded in the passbook annually where the client submits the passbook to TPB branches or regional offices.
• It enables the client to access services in Tanzania Postal Bank branches and Tanzania Posts Corporation offices all over the country.

Requirements

1. Two recent passport size photographs.
2. Employee’s Identity Card/Voter’s Identity Card and Introduction letter from the Employer or Ward Executive Officer with a stamped passport size photograph attached on it, or upon being introduced by a recognized Tanzania Postal Bank Client.
3. Must have the minimum opening balance which currently is 10,000 shillings.
