A donation of Tshs.3.0 million was given to Ulanga constituency to support construction of classes for the district secondary school. Another donation of Tshs.3.0 million was contributed to Mbagala Orphanage to support its operations and Tshs. 3.0 million was given to Nguvu Sawa Group a group of people with disabilities with office at Ilala Mchikichini who sought bank support to their economic group.

2. A donation of Tshs.3.5 million to Kwembe Primary School
A donation of Tshs.3.5 million was given to Kwembe Primary School in Kinondoni Municipal to support completion of construction of two classes. Another donation of Tshs.3.25 million was extended to Teresina Sisters - Faraja Home Care of Mikocheni in Dar es Salaam. The centre takes care and offers education (from nursery, primary, secondary and vocational training) facility to orphans and the needy.
The third donation of Tshs.1.0 million was given to the Ministry of Information, Culture and Sports to support the national Utamaduni Day whereby TPB was invited to advertise her products and services during the event.
3. Five million Donation to Masengwa Secondary School
A donation of Tshs.5.0 million was given to Masengwa Secondary School in Shinyanga to support school development program. Presentation ceremony was held at the Regional Commissioners office in Shinyanga town on 22nd April 2008. The event was officiated by the Regional Commissioner for Shinyanga Region.
PROMOTIONS Western Union End of the Year Promotion
The Western Union End of the Year Promotion was launched during the end of the year 2007 and continued through 14th of March 2008. All customers sending or receiving money through WU filled coupons and after three consecutive transactions they won Polo Tshirts.
Those who registered 5 transactions won umbrellas and wall clocks, and both groups qualified for a mini draw eligible for a Tshs.1.5 million prize. Subsequently, the Grand Raffle was conducted on 14th of April 2008 whereby two winners of Tshs.4.0 million each came from TPB locations, and 8 winners of Tshs.1.5 million each from TPB. Presentation of prizes to winners was scheduled for 28th April 2008.
A total of Tshs.96.0 million was invested in this campaign, both for advertisements, promotional giveaways and prizes for winners.
Western Union “GO EAST AFRICA PROMOTIION”
The GO EAST AFRICA campaign which was launched on 24th December 2008, it was concluded on 28th February 2009 followed by Grand Draw which was conducted on 6th March 2009 and eventually hand over of prizes to Winners on 17th April 2008. The Hand Over Ceremony was accompanied by Cocktail Party held at Palm Beach Hotel.

WSBI Meeting
During the month, the department in liaison with the Steering Committee of the WSBI conference finalized preparations for the meeting that took place from 13th to 16th May 2008 at Zanzibar's Ocean Paradise Resort. The conference mobilized participants from 9 countries namely; Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Comoro, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Lesotho, Botswana and Morocco.
Tanzania Diaspora Investment and Skills Forum 2008
Tanzania Postal Bank(TPB) in collaboration with Western Union Financial Services International sponsored and took part in Tanzania Diaspora Investment Forum 2008.The two (2) day forum took place in London UK from 17th -18th April 2008.It was organized and hosted by Tanzania High Commission,Tanzania Association in the UK and Africa Recruit.
The prime aim of this forum was to facilitate the productive dialogue between all key stakeholders in harness remittances and skills flows to Tanzania, also the conference aimed at mobilizing and engaging Tanzanian Diaspora to harness the development and investment capacity of remittances and enable skills engagement.
